WEMW management system is officially certified as sustainable!
In 2025 WEMW embarked on a three-year journey focused on sustainability, not only to grow in a greener and more inclusive market, but in hopes of driving a bigger change in the film industry as well.
Earlier this year, thanks to the collaboration with Trentino Film Commission – Green Film, WEMW aligned its management system with the principles of ISO 20121 – the international standard for sustainable event management.
Following a comprehensive audit, we are proud to announce that WEMW management system is now officially certified as sustainable, having successfully achieved the goals and criterias set within the first year of our new improvement programme.
To celebrate this important milestone we are pleased to introduce the WEMW2025 Sustainability Report, a brief overview of this year’s achievements and a highlight of the actions that made them possible.
Among this year’s successes we would like to present not only the transition to a completely plastic free event and the implementation of an almost entirely vegetarian and vegan menu but also the launch of a free Baby Lounge.

Last but not least, we are happy to share that the proceeds from the 2024 and 2025 WEMW Green Lottery were invested in the purchase of Gold Standard-certified carbon credits, successfully offsetting 18 tonnes of CO₂ emissions from WEMW 2025.
Here are some of the projects supported through the purchase:
_Uganda Gender-Responsive Safe Water Project
_The Nicaforest High Impact Reforestation Program
_Improved Cookstoves for Rural Zambia
_Wind Power Project in Madhya Pradesh, India
This year’s results can only inspire us to continue our commitment to a more sustainable future, both for the market as well as for the next generations of the film industry.
We look forward to discovering what more we can achieve together in the coming years.
