ANIMA SPIRIT
Animation Inspirational Lab in partnership with CEE Animation Workshop
ANIMA SPIRIT is designed as an entrance door for experienced producers and film companies coming from live action or documentary, wanting to discover the exciting and complex world of animated film production. The Lab will combine group work, individual consultancies, and lectures on financial and creative aspects of animation production. The Lab is hosted by the CEE Animation Workshop team and led by international experts Martin Vandas (producer, MAUR Film, Czech Republic) and Sabine Andersone (producer, Atom Art studio, Latvia).

Anima Spirit Inspirational Lab is organised in cooperation between CEE Animation Workshop and When East Meets West.
CEE Animation Workshop is supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA and Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
SUBMISSION & DEADLINE
- producers from all over the world are eligible to apply;
- It is possible to apply to max. 3 different labs, but in case of selection it will be possible to attend one Inspirational Lab only;
- It is possible to apply to more than one WEMW section (Co-Production Forum, Works in Progress, EAVE Slate) and to the Inspirational Labs at the same time.

DATES & SELECTION
All Inspirational Labs activities will take place from 17 to 19 January 2027 in Trieste and will be smoothly integrated with the WEMW Programme.
All applicants will be informed about the selection results in December 2026. The final selection will be primarily based on the applicant’s profile and motivation, and all selected participants will have the opportunity to join the full WEMW programme.
PARTICIPATION FEE & SCHOLARSHIPS
In case of selection, the participation fee is € 250 EUR, including WEMW & Trieste Film Festival accreditation, tuition fee and lunches. Travel costs and accommodation are not included.
* The participation fee will be waived for all Ukrainian selected participants.
