INSPIRATIONAL LABS
IMPACT ZONE
Outreach & Impact Inspirational Lab in partnership with ESoDoc
ESoDoc’s lab at WEMW is a space for filmmakers to start exploring the potential of storytelling as a tool for social change.
Organised in collaboration with The Good Media Network—the team behind Berlin’s new nonfiction festival Doxumentale and Germany’s pioneering impact initiative The Good Media Pitch—the lab offers a hands-on introduction to the world of impact.
Designed for both fiction and documentary projects, the session invites participants to reflect on how their stories can resonate beyond the screen.
Through a guided and collaborative workshop, filmmakers will be introduced to the core elements of an impact-driven approach—such as identifying potential impact goals, understanding target audiences, and thinking about possible strategies for engagement.
Rather than aiming to build a full campaign, the lab focuses on raising awareness and providing practical entry points into the logic and language of impact.
It encourages participants to begin shaping a vision for the change they hope to spark, and to consider how impact thinking can support their projects at different stages of the production journey.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of key concepts, inspiration from real-world examples, and initial tools to begin thinking about impact in a structured and strategic way.
