After the two successful editions of the Video Games Production Inspirational Lab, WEMW and SpielFabrique join forces to expand the programme and launch the FILMS x GAMES Connection Hub, a brand-new initiative designed to enhance the connection between the film and game sectors.

The programme is targeting up to 10 AV producers with a game project in development and keen to learn how the game sector works and better understand how to position, finance and distribute a game.
Besides group work and individual consultations with international experts, the programme will include a matchmaking session with a group of dynamic game developers & studios from different European countries aimed at exploring new opportunities of collaboration at project development level.

At the same time the Connection Hub will offer to all attending game developers & studios the extraordinary opportunity to take part in a series of sessions with renowned film industry professionals so to better understand how co-production usually works, what the key successful factors for a co production are and how it is possible to access funding from other countries through co production.

In addition to the matchmaking sessions with AV producers looking for partners to develop further their cross-media strategy and create collaborative games, the programme will feature a series of one-to-one meetings amongst game developers & studios to explore new forms of collaboration within the gaming sector.

The FILMS x GAMES Connection Hub is seeking to boost better communication, knowledge exchange between the two sectors as well as new forms of cooperation to create more business and revenue opportunities.

SUBMISSION & DEADLINE

• producers from Europe, Canada and Latin America are eligible to apply;
• It is possible to apply to more than one WEMW section (Co-Production Forum, Works in Progress, EAVE Slate, Inspirational Labs)  and to the Films x Games Connection Hub at the same time.

DATES & LOCATIONS

The Film x Games Connection Hub  activities will take place from 18 to 20 January 2026 in Trieste (up to 3-4 hours per day) and will be smoothly integrated with the WEMW Programme.

All applicants will be informed about the selection results in December 2025.
The final selection will be primarily based on the applicant’s profile and motivation, and all selected participants will have the opportunity to join the full WEMW programme.

PARTICIPATION FEE & SCOLARSHIPS

In case of selection, the participation fee is € 250 EUR, including WEMW & Trieste Film Festival accreditation, tuition fee and lunches.
Travel costs and accommodation are not included.

* The participation fee will be waived for all Ukrainian selected participants.
