Company Profile

Langfilm was founded in 1980. Today, the company is lead by Anne-Catherine Lang Majer and Olivier Zobrist. Julia Schubiger joined our team as junior producer in the last years. With our experience, Langfilm is one of the established production companies in Switzerland. We have produced more than 50 films and series, many of them in coproduction with European partners, including Swiss film classics such as “Höhenfeuer” (1985) by Fredi M. Murer or “Der Berg” (1990) by Markus Imhoof. We love producing a wide range of audiovisual works: fiction and documentaries – features and shorts – live action and animation. Langfilm also works specifically with young Swiss filmmakers.

Most recently, we produced the documentary “The New Gospel” by Milo Rau (Venice Days 2020, Winner Swiss Film Award 2021: Best Documentary), the short “Über Wasser” by Jela Hasler (Semaine de la Critique, Cannes 2021), the feature “L’Amour du Monde” by Jenna Hasse (Berlinale Generation 2023) and the documentary “Brunaupark” by Felix Hergert & Dominik Zietlow (Winner national competition Visions du Réel Nyon 2024).

Langfilm is also one of the founding members of the Swiss distribution company Vinca Film and runs a cinema in Freienstein, Switzerland.
