CREATIVE MEDIA DAY: SUCCESS STORIES & CHALLENGES & FUTURE
The aspect of visibility and recognisability of European cinema is one of the burning issues of the European audiovisual industry and the MEDIA Sub-programme within the context of the Creative Europe Programme. For 2018, the MEDIA has reserved around 112 mil of EUR, distributed via 14 different calls for proposals. Therefore, within our panel we will try to seek out the best possible solutions and find answers to the following questions: how to think outside the box, how can we learn from one another, what are the advantages and disadvantages of arriving from a large, medium-sized or small country and what is future for the MEDIA (sub)- programme after 2020?
Panel Session moderated by Martina Petrovic (CED – MEDIA Office Croatia) together with Nevena Negojevic (CED – MEDIA Office Serbia), Ulrika Nisell (CED – MEDIA Office Sweden), Silvia Sandrone (CED – MEDIA Office Italy)

15:30 – 16:30       THE ROAD TO PROJECT AND FILM MARKETING: CHECKPOINTS AND PITFALLS
It is never too early for time-stretched producers to start thinking about marketing their projects. Yet these decisions are usually made at the very last moment and under great pressure. Through a series of case studies, we will try to shed light on the way marketing can impact a project during its different stages: from development throughout production to delivery and distribution. A list of examples will serve as check points on the road map of adding value to your film in order to reach its maximum potential and its ultimate goal: the audience. Because at the end, marketing is not only about the films we make, but about the stories we tell.

The digital marketplace is slowly – very slowly – transforming not just how where, how and when audiences see films. It is also responsible for a huge change in how films will be financed now and in the future.  The European film funders, aware of the magnitude of these changes and the potential impact of the European Digital Single Market Initiative, started an important discussion with its Vision Paper.  This panel will discuss the current status of digital distribution, its future growth and what we need to think about to create a strong, sustainable and dynamic European industry.
