Documentary fine cut section

LAST STOP TRIESTE is a platform for presenting documentary projects in a stage of a fine cut. The platform offers to the film teams the possibility to present their almost finished films in order to look for a festival to premiere their work, for broadcasters to buy or sales agent to engage in the process of the planning further life of the particular documentary film.

Thanks to a strong network with our partners, LAST STOP TRIESTE opens call for all interested teams whose projects have been previously developed or presented at one of the following documentary workshops:  Ex-Oriente Film, Balkan Discoveries at the Balkan Documentary Centre, Docu Rough Cut Boutique at  Sarajevo Film Festival/Sofia or presented at the previous editions of When East Meets West in Trieste, ZagrebDox PRO and Baltic Sea Forum In Riga.

The call for entries will be launched in early October and the deadline for submission will be November 30, 2018.

Selected documentary fine cuts will be screened and presented to an exclusive panel of international sales agents, festival programmers and TV commissioning editors with the aim of enhancing their potential of being selected in top festivals and their chances of distribution and broadcasting. The invited panellist will also discuss each presented film and give their constructive feedback aiming to help to film teams to plan better possible next steps for their projects in the fine cut stage. An international jury will deliver the special HBO EUROPE award to the best project as well as an award given in postproduction service.

LAST STOP TRIESTE will take place alongside the Trieste Film Festival and When East Meets West on January 20-22, 2019. The programme will be directed by Rada Sesic (Sarajevo Film Festival).

LAST STOP TRIESTE is organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audio-visual Fund and the Trieste Film Festival, with the support of Creative Europe, CEI – Central European Initiative and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
