Apply to WEMW 2019!

EXTENDED DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 7, 2018

The upcoming edition of WEMW (January 20-22, 2019) will launch a new East & West double focus and will bring together over 450 film professionals from more than 35 countries and, in particular, from the 2019 spotlight regions: Central Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine) and Benelux (Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands). Producers from Europe* and North/Latin America are eligible to apply and WEMW will select 20 projects in development

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA

  • Projects must be long feature fiction films or documentaries in development with preferably 15% of the total budget already in place
  • Projects must have international co-production potential, preferably with either Central Eastern Europe, Benelux or Italy

SUBMISSION

Please note: the extended deadline for submitting a project is NOVEMBER 7, 2018.

In order to submit your application and the required materials, you need to create your own account and fill in the online form following this link.

All applications must include:

  • complete online application form
  • approx. 5 – 8 page treatment in English
  • financing plan
  • teaser of the submitted project or previous works of the director

The application has to be finalized and submitted via the following link with all required documents by NOVEMBER 7, 2018

 

SELECTION

The WEMW international selection committee will evaluate the artistic potential of the treatment, international dimension of the project, directors’ profile, producers’ CV and company track record.

Selected projects will be announced in mid-December and all selected producers will be offered free WEMW Industry accreditation.

  • EAVE scholarship – for the EAVE European Producers Workshop
  • Flow Postproduction Award – 15.000 EUR prize in post-production facilities
  • EWA Network Best Woman Director Award – cash prize for the best female director
  • Producers Network Prize – free accreditation to the Cannes Marche du Film Producer’s Network
  • Asterisk Visual Marketing Award – complete package including the prelaunch poster and dossier design, as well as content and text curation provided by Heretic Asterisk
  • Bratislava Film Residence Award – A 3-week residency with the guidance of international mentors
