First Cut +

First Cut+ program is conceived for providing to eight selected films’ teams a specific workshop on marketing and promotion in order to launch their film in the best way possible into the international market.

The program will be divided in 3 important modules:

+ Masterclasses by our advisors on major subjects related to promotion and audience engagement

+ Specific consultations about your film with one-to-one sessions with our advisors who will study a strategy and tailor-made consultations for your films on marketing (online and offline), PR strategy, synopsis, poster, trailer, sales and festivals strategy…

+ A “Work-in-Progress” session where you will be able to present your film and show up to ten minutes content (promo/trailer/selected scenes or teaser) to a selected public of decision-makers (festivals programmers and buyers) in collaboration with Trieste When East Meets West, in January 2022.

The upcoming session of First Cut+ will be held hybrid: online for the consultations during December 2021 and January 2022 and in Trieste on site for one participant for each film, from January 24th to 26th 2022.

The deadline for sending your application is November 15th and the selection process will be closed end of November 2021.

Conditions for being eligible:

Please note that for be eligible the film should be produced by Creative Europe’s MEDIA participating countries, picture locked (or almost) by end of November 2021, not screened in a festival premiere yet, possibly still looking for a sales agent. We are giving priority to films that will not take part to other labs/work-in-progress previous then ours.


The fee to participate to First Lab+ program is 1000 euros, which includes travel costs and accommodation for the producer of the film in Trieste January 24-26 2022.
